JOHN VOLPACCHIO – Glass Artist
When asked to describe my work in glass, I use such terms as whimsical, functional, sculptural, colorful, sensual, intricate and thought provoking. The mastery of this art is capturing spontaneity at its peak. From creation to successful completion, the end result for each piece of work is highly climactic, beautiful and inherently unique.
I teach glassblowing, sculpture and ceramics at Salem State University. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado. I’ve spent several summers in Murano, Venice working with and apprenticing under Venetian Master glassblowers.
