Joan Wortman is a local artist from Cambridge who has been making her beaded jewelry for years. She attended Mass College of Art for ceramics and graphic design and has been inspired by various fine arts disciplines such as painting, photography and glassblowing. Today, in addition to her jewelry making, she designs web applications and sites (including this one).
Joan uses stirling silver findings and semi-precious stones in her earrings. She has travelled all over the world including Italy, India, Lebanon and Isreal and sometimes incorporates baubles that she has found on the road (not literally) into her work
She enjoys beading and making hand-crafted wearable art and has made custom jewelry for special occations such as birthdays and weddings.
